Yeah.  Purdue was the best team in the Big 10.  And they will be again next year.

Meaningless.

This Drake team would have hammered Illinois.   I think Illinois should hire their coach

Lol. Love it.

Purdue now confirmed to finish at the bottom of the conference next year.

Dude I said Skyy Clark would suck.  He sucked so bad he quit the team

I said Kofi would declare for the draft when “insiders” were sure he was coming back.

I said Ty Rodgers wasn’t a Big 10 player.  He wasn’t.

I said Mayer would be a me first ballhog.  He was.

I said Illinois would stink before the schedule was even made.  2-12 vs Q2 despite being picked to finish 2nd

I said Illinois football would destroy NW.  42-0.

When you’re right as much as me, it’s a shock or fluke when I’m not. And Purdue in the NCAA certainly was tonight

You said Illinois wasn't good enough to make the NIT.  Huge miss.

Rodgers is a Big Ten caliber player.

You said Mayer was garbage. He wasnt.

You've claimed to be financially successful. Yet you live in a college dorm.

You hit a few no brainers like Kofi staying in the draft. Most predicted that.

No one strikes out as often as you.

Full court press changed the last 5 minutes. It's almost like their coach.....made an adjustment.

Everyone knew Kofi was as good as gone. Not sure what you're talking about.

Ty Rodgers showed he is more than capable of playing in the Big Ten.

Mayer, sure he went rogue a shit ton but he was instrumental in some of our wins. We probably don't make the tournament without him.

Illinois won 20 games - 6 more than your original prediction of 14 btw - and made the tournament. Inconsistent yes, but not a team that "stinks".

Pat yourself on the back for picking the football team to destroy the worst team in the conference. Let us all bow down to your amazing crystal ball powers.

Yeah.  Purdue was the best team in the Big 10.  And they will be again next year.
The Flying Illini were the best team in the country - not just the conference -  in 88-89.

Michigan has a big ass trophy from that year.

Well, Purdue in the tournament comes to mind.

As bas as being an Illini fan in the tourney has been, 4 #1 seeds but we only get 2 final fours and each of those times we were sure we'd win it all, Austin Peay, Dayton, Loyola Chicago.

To be a Purdue fan is just horrifying. They have not only consistently underperformed, but have had several of the worst gut punch losses ever. That loss to VA in the elite 8 was nothing short of miraculous, with a team that could have won it all. There was some OT or double OT game where they had it in the bag twice. Etc etc...

To quantify just how insane this loss is

Purdue just lost to a team that (stole this from reddit)

- Was not ranked Above 300 in Kenpom the whole year

- Didn't win their conference tournament

- Didn't win their conference regular season title either

- is in the NEC which ranks 32/32 for D1 conferences in the country in kenpom

- Went 4-22 Last year

- A first year coach that transitioned from D2

- Average height of players is 6'1"

- Ranked 359 in Defense in Kenpom

EDIT: They got into the tournament because they made it to their Conference finals as their opponent (Merrimack) was not eligible to make the NCAAT because of the 4 year transition period rule. They also finished Runner-up in their conference during the regular season.

Money line was -5000 for Purdue hahaha

I'd like to see a first half half box score for the Purdue game.
