No wonder people are flocking to LIV… 😂

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/36187162/reports-rory-mcilroy-docked-3m-skipping-rbc-heritage

I don't really follow it, but are they really "flocking"?

No…

Basically Rory is being fined $3 mil from a bonus program called “PIP (player incentive program),” requiring top 20 players be at elevated events (you’re allowed one missed event for personal or professional reasons). Rory surely knew the penalty before withdrawing. He missed The Sentry earlier in the season. $3 mil doesn’t mean much to Rory, he’s loaded. Like to the tune of $600 million plus

His PIP incentive was 12 mil. So he gets 9 mil for being Rory McIlroy. Sign me up.

There's a great Rich Eisen piece on Mickelson, basically saying that he'd probably take a mulligan on LIV if he could, he got 200M from LIV supposedly but has probably thrown away 2x that in endorsements and basically becoming Nick Faldo in the booth for the rest of his life once he stops playing.

No doubt about it. Threw away a lot for the payday. Brandel Chamblee said he had the potential to be the best television analyst of all-time. No one would want him now. Definitely tarnished his legacy.

Tiger reportedly turned down something like $600 million.

Just won $750. If i play Morikawa like I did in my other lineups (instead of Schauffele) I’d have won 5k.

He’s a high volume player. Probably plays thousands of dollars per slate.

Currently in 1st place out of 23k plus players. It’s a $1 contest and weeklong, so haven’t won anything yet. Wish this was the weeklong $20 which pays 200k to winner.
