".... a virus that hasn’t really affected young healthy athletes..."
"Covid-19 is serious. I never thought that I would have serious health complications from this virus, but look at what happened.🤦♂️ We need to listen to our medical experts."

Finding one 325 lb 18 year old that got sick doesn’t do much to refute me saying “hasn’t really done much to young healthy athletes”
I didn’t say “no athlete has ever or will ever get sick from this” so essentially the fact that teams have been practicing and holding workouts and we have exactly one case to point to is a pretty good indication that this virus isn’t a big threat to the athletes.
Looks like you’ve pivoted from “hasn’t really affected young healthy athletes” to “hasn’t really done much to young healthy athletes.” I’ll take that as progress that for now you at least recognize COVID-19 may have health consequences for young athletes.
Like so much about the disease, the long-term impacts for athletes who contract it (young and old) are not fully understood, including lingering health problems such as heart, lung and cognitive issues.
Here’s a few more examples of young athletes that are struggling with the complications:
Red Sox ace, 27, won’t pitch this season because of heart ailment linked to covid-19
“Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez described his experience with covid-19 as feeling “like I was 100 years old.” Now, the 27-year-old left-hander will miss the 2020 season while recovering from a heart issue related to the illness.”

“Tigers coach Dabo Swinney announced Thursday night that defensive end Xavier Thomas will redshirt this year after a battle with COVID-19 and strep throat. Thomas will be eligible to play in four games and still redshirt. And Swinney is hopeful the junior will be able to contribute some this year.”

“University of Houston defensive lineman Sedrick Williams will not play in the 2020 season because of heart complications related to COVID-19. 'I’ve had my mind made up for a min now , but hearing this story made it even easier ... As a result of the virus I’ve had complications with my heart and I really don’t know the outcome or what’s in store for me in the future , I just know that my life is more precious to me than football could ever be ... I’VE DECIDED TO OPT OUT OF THE 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON due to these complications ... I won’t take this year for granted , IM COMING BACK BIGGER , FASTER , & STRONGER than EVER ...’”

“…interviews with athletes who have contracted the virus — from professionals to college athletes to weekend hobbyists — revealed their surprise at the potency of its symptoms, struggles to reestablish workout regimens, lingering battles with lung issues and muscle weakness, and unsettling bouts of anxiety about whether they would be able to match their physical peaks.”
