Congress has the power of the purse strings. The Trumpers are in control of both houses. This should not be too hard for them if they are serious about it. The problem is they are not. Hell, they cannot even get a tax and/or immigration bill together.

I’m fine with the concept of making government more efficient and cost-effective. I’m not convinced the world’s richest man, who wasn’t elected to anything is the person to oversee it.

Which is why I say let them go and when Medicare, Medicaid, FEMA, etc. money is dried up and the checks stop flowing to the Red States (funded by the Blue States), and there are more jihadists running amuck all over the world (and eventually here), more planes crashing and their kids are sick because the water is fucked up, there are no chickens left, and they have to cancel their trip to Yosemite because the FAA, EPA, FDA, and the Park Service can't do their jobs with only 10 people, just remind them this is what they voted for.

They laid off every new, recently transferred, or recently promoted person in the National Parks Service and National Forest Service. Trump did this. The guy who bitched that we weren't "raking the leaves" fires the people who rake the leaves. Both of those orgs are chronically understaffed.

Now if you say "it sucks, but we aren't gonna have National Parks", we can have a policy disagreement there. But that's not what you, or Musk or Trump are saying.
