It's gonna be a wild ride. Aside from these guys driving up inflation, they will be explicitly driving up unemployment. I guess it might be a feature and not a bug that the private sector will not be able to soak up all the employees? Maybe we can hire some air traffic controllers to pick crops.

Gore downsized government and nobody was screaming. Part of was he hadn't invented the Internet yet. A big part was he used a scalpel whereas Elmo is using a  butcher knife.

If no one was screaming, it wasn’t much of a cut. And let’s be honest, there is screaming about every single fucking thing Trump does because people cannot control their emotions due to TDS. It is real.

What we get into here is a really sad human condition. People who think they can get along fine without things X/Y/Z that they think are "wasteful", but if really put into a position where they'd need to take care of themselves, they'd be dead in a day. If Elon Musk were on the LOST island, he'd be dead in a day, either through incompetence or at the hands of the other castaways.

All these things that "just work", when they stop working... I mean Custard can cook a mean meal on the grill, so he doesn't need a restaurant, but he's not going out and hunting wild boar with bullets that he packed himself with gunpowder that he crafted himself, cleaning the boar, stuffing the sausages, curing them.

My cousin can do a pretty mean job of butchering an elk. But he can't forge his own knives, and if his water stopped running it would be a pretty big mess. And he'd be eating a lot of elk jerky if his freezer wasn't running, of course he makes jerky himself in a dehydrator, and uses salt that he gets from the grocery store, etc...

Eliminating or modifying programs through traditional legislative means would require the Republican clownshow in Congress to get its act together and make an attempt to govern.  That isn’t happening anytime soon.  So, they need an unaccountable extra-government organization to do the work for them.

This is just deflection. Clearly there is plenty of WFA in government. I believe we could cut a huge chuck of federal government redundancy and fraud and waste without causing problems getting bullets or salt. If it did cause problems, it would be very short-lived. People traded salt and gunpowder long before bureaucracy was even a thing.

But more importantly, I think you should know that I did cure and stuff the sausages myself!
