It's gone from NATO broke their promise to Russia to not expand, to it was a bad idea and some predicted as much.

Well; that kinda did happen, but of course we as Americans and NATO members are obligated to just go ahead and whitewash that so we can form a false narrative which allows us to do whatever we want. It’s not like I made this up, there is plenty to read out there. Pretty naive to think none of it had any effect and our side did nothing wrong. Then again, that’s exactly what you’ve been led to believe for good reason.

World's Best Minds = someone who confirms Custard's existing beliefs. 

This war has very little to do with NATO.  Putin wants Ukraine, plain and simple.  He doesn't see Ukraine as a legitimate independent country, culture or society, but as a historical part of Russia that was wrongly separated from them when the Soviet Union disintegrated. 

This is a revanchist war to help reconstitute historical Greater Russia, to include Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, the Baltic Republics and Poland.  Finland is probably a bridge to far, even for a Peter the Great wannabe like Putin.

He’s only been openly griping about it for decades and the growing influence of the west (US and other NATO countries, including the overthrow of their democratically elected government) in Ukraine over the last 10+ years pushed everything to the brink. Did you think he was going to let the west pull Ukraine into NATO without a fight? He’d be insane to.
