https://x.com/yashar/status/1872990996016816187This is pretty crazy.
Bannon has gone with the argument that we need to train Americans, Musk retweeted a tweet that said that Americans are too retarded to train.
This is gonna be wild, neither of these two is a very good communicator, but the target audience is the Trump base, and they will default to the America first bleat by Bannon.
The counter argument is pretty simple. "Training" for a Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering job in a leading US company is a four year degree, at this point top firms start by looking at Masters degrees.
Is Steve Bannon saying that Apple should pay high school graduates for 4-6 years to learn calculus and physics, thus also paying instructors? Remember that when you went to orientation at UIUC, they'd say look at the person to the left of you, and the person to the right of you, if you graduate one of them won't be there with you. Microsoft should pay someone and sink 2 years into them and then figure out - yeah, this person can't hack it.
We can't come up with a way to make college tuition free. Now Bannon wants US companies to PAY high school grads to be college students. And then be at risk for that employee leaving for another job once they get ramped up?
