Musk's primary fortune comes from EVs, which are against the MAGA base, Trump already threatening to kill any EV credits

RFK will be an interesting case (OK, he probably won't be confirmed, only need 4 max Republican Senators who aren't crazy anti-vaxxers) - but while MAGA might love the anti-vax rhetoric, he's also discussing things like banning soda, and restricting additives in foods that would just crush big food. "Here is my HHS Secretary RFK Jr - he's gonna ban Coca Cola and Hot Dogs!"

You don’t think a lot of MAGA will drive a Tesla now that Musk himself is MAGA? My brother is very conservative and has had a Tesla for years. Also has a bunch of solar panels on his roof that nearly offset all their electricity usage.

I don’t think anyone is really anti-EV except people or companies who have a vested interest in internal combustion engine vehicles. EVs certainly have their place.

The regular people who have questioned the potential mandates and the tax credits are often people who live in rural areas where EVs don’t make as much sense. Rural people also overwhelmingly vote Trump. What was it you were saying about causation and correlation again?

RFK isn’t going to ban soda, but I would have to think you’d agree that our food system needs an overhaul.

This whole thing is a blessing in that sense, Musk is a fucking moron. I used to have a bunch of Tesla stock, and sold it when he cooked up two idiotic proposals - Hyperloop and Boring Company. It's only our bad luck that he happened to be interested in Space at a time when the Government was defunding NASA, and that he thought the Tesla Roadster was really cool and he should be a founder in the company. Those successes are just coincidences, had he decided to go all in on Hyperloop instead of SpaceX, he'd be in the dustbin of history.
