Nichi, can't say I have heard hockey players talk like this post-game in a 1 - 1 tie where you got your ass kicked in the 2d half. I would have had to check the rear view mirror on the way home to make sure the back of my car was not being destroyed by The AggressiveSon after a game like that one.

Soccer is more of a man's sport than basketball.

US has a young team, played with tons of energy in the first half, then candidly got outcoached in the 2nd half. Plus the roster management has been weird. One of our best young forwards isn't on the team (possibly injury) and one of our best players, period, Gio Reyna, got left on the bench today for reasons that make no sense. And the midfielder they brought on is better of late than probably two of the midfielders who started. So the Weber analogy isn't off.

The fact that such a highly anticipated match like Mexico vs Poland could end in a 0-0 tie is one of the reasons soccer mostly sucks.

Most of the pundits think they played overly defensive on both sides because they wanted to ensure at least a point on the expectation that they'd both beat Saudi Arabia and it would come down to who played Argentina better.
