Speaking of violence.  Maryland has purdue bent over at mid court right now.  29-4 run.  Went from down 8 to up 17.

But they're playing good damn defense lately.  Need to beat them at home.  Starting to look like a huge opportunity to notch a high net team win  to help offset some of our other garbage.  Need to stay out of the 8 9 seed game.  Gimme a 6 11 or a 7 and 10 seed.  That might give us the best chance.

Are you presuming we're the lower, or higher, seed ?

The Terps are the only Big10 team undefeated at home in conference play.

6 might be unrealistic but I could see us anywhere from a 7 through 11 seed.  Just don't want the 8/9 game.  Need to finish at least 11-9. 20-11.  Would probably get us a 7 and 8.

It wasn't meant to be a serious question, lol. But more a comment on how predictably unpredictable this team can be.
11-9 would be my guess.

Bracket Matrix has Illinois as a 6 seed right now. I can't see how, other than there are a lot of mediocre teams out there.

Somehow COK jumped from off the bubble to 11 (play-in game).

Looking like no first-round Illinois matchup with Drake. Drake would have to move up to a 10 or 11 seed, and I doubt that is happening.

Clemson is showing us what not to do out-of-conference: Schedule almost all dogshit teams and then lose to some of them. The Tigres have been near the top of the ACC most of the season, and they are on only 22 brackets right now.
I am a former 5-star general. Or maybe it was 4-star.
Nichi claims a guard with a 1.3 assist-to-TO ratio is a good passer.

Might be Bradley instead of Drake representing the Valley.  Or really, whoever wins the Valley tournament.  No way they get multiple bids.  At any rate, no way a Valley team gets a 10 or 11.  Not this year.  The Valley sucks.

Yeah, the Valley is a one-team-bid league.

I looked up Clemson. Unlike Illinois, they beat Penn St. but needed two OTs to do it. In their defense, they apparently scheduled tournament games and neutral-site games and ended up playing the likes of Cal. They lost to godawful South Carolina in a rivalry game and then somehow got pantsed by Loyola Chicago.

They play at Louisville tomorrow and need a win badly. After that it's Syracuse, at NC St., at Virginia, and home against the Brokeback of Notre Dame.

My bandwagon team, Miami, is up to a 5. They must have remembered how to play D again because for about 2 weeks there was no evidence they could guard hard.

You know college basketball is completely fucking nuts when Northwestern this late into the season has more than a legit shot of winning the conference.

Chris Collins pulled one helluva coaching miracle out of his ass.
Official winner of the HQ Tallest Midget award. Thanks, Jobu!

Northwestern doesn’t have any shot at the title.  The still have to play on the road at Maryland, Rutgers, and Illinois.

Purdue won’t lose another game the rest of the season.

Clemson was "upset" by Louisville. COK is still an 11 seed at Bracket Matrix but no longer in the play-in game.

Overrated trash Auburn lost to Vandy.

If I was Michigan State, I’d be doing whatever it takes to get Izzo to retire and bring in Nate Oats. Oats seems like a natural fit for that job given his success, and local ties to the state having been a long time HS coach there.

Kind of reminds me of Illinois back when PJ Fleck was an up and coming coach. They didn’t make the move, then had to sit thru the Lovie years before finally finding a good coach. Izzo is done as a top coach. I don’t see MSU competing for anything as long as he’s there. With Oats I think they’d be a Final 4 contender given the status of MSU and Oats acumen
