When they did their reunion tour last year the tickets were so expensive the proletariat couldn’t even afford them.

They did pledge a 500k donation from the proceeds to benefit reproductive rights. Feel like there could have been better uses for the funds, but at least it’s something.

Supremely on brand for Custard to decry the fraudulence and shortcomings of a guy who’s raised/donated millions of dollars for people in need. Co-founded a major non-profit, and won multiple humanitarian awards because he’s relatively wealthy through the fruits of his labor. $25 million isn’t even that high of a net worth for someone of his stature. But apparently he’s not Mother Theresa and living in squalor, so…fraud.

Not quite as ridiculous as the “how many immigrants are you housing?” trope, but along the same vein.

Hardly anyone ever does pass the purity test. Most people can’t be objective about something they’re passionate about…they feel compelled to pick a side, gloss over any drawbacks, and then defend it. That’s essentially the trap of everything from identity politics to sports fanaticism.

I happen to like Rage, but they’re not above questioning/criticism. And I don’t even feel like I’ve really criticized them at all. Just pointed out some things I think are interesting. I had just added Tom Morello’s deep cuts SXM channel to my presets in my Jeep like an hour before I read the original post about him here.
