Biden is supposed a moderate Democrat who can work across the aisle. There is a perception that he is letting the far left progressives set his agenda. There is also a perception that  Biden's policies caused the current inflation, crime wave, and border issues. That is all highly debatable, but the admin appears incompetent to sway public opinion.

Given the climate, it would not be a shock to see wealthy moderate Democrats drifting away. Right now, the Dems need an articulate messenger that comes across less angry, less smug, and more optimistic.

As bad as polls are for Biden, Party preference polls for Congress are close. All Republicans have right now is inflation, crime, baby formula shortages, and illegal immigration suck.  They have no solutions. Their actual agenda is antiabortion [anti-choice], anti-grooming [anti-gay], anti-CRT [anti-history], anti-science, ...

Those are some pretty good issues to run on. Still waiting for an answer on what can actually be done at this time about inflation from 97 and Custard. (Hint: raise taxes.)

Crime: sure - lock more people up, hire more cops (where they going to come from though?) and get prosecutors who do their jobs instead of whatever Kim Foxx is doing.

Baby formula shortages: import more from Canada and abroad until the closed factory gets its act together.  Trump allegedly caused the Canada problem (so I read somewhere, Goggle it youselves Big10 men). Importing from abroad is allegedly an issue due to bureaucratic  labeling issues (see last parenthetical). I do not see the GOP pushing laws encouraging the opening of new baby formula factories as too much lobbying cash will squash that. Use the Defense Production Act? Tax break for nursing mothers?

Illegal immigration: yeah, there is a shitload that can be done that Biden is not doing. However, as I have asked before, if it was so bad, wouldn't we be seeing tangible evidence of it in the job market for lower skill positions? I do not see it around here. I did not see it in California at the end of March when there. I did not see it in Minneapolis and driving through Wisconsin (whenever that was). Where are all these people who are streaming over the border working? I just don't get what is going on with this issue. The news reports indicate it is up (and we all know why). But where is the impact?
