If Joseph Rosenbaum hadn't started running towards Rittenhouse, if Joshua Ziminski hadn't fired the first shot while Rosenbaum was chasing Rittenhouse, if Anthony Huber hadnt used his skateboard on the head of Rittenhouse, if Maurice Freeland hadnt kicked Rittenhouse in the face, and if Gauge Grosskreutz hadn't pointed an illegally possessed gun at the head of Rittenhouse, then maybe .......
Ziminski, Grosskreutz, Huber and Freeland all have criminal records. Rosenbaum served time for the rapes of 5 kids, including anal rape. The kids were 9-11.
Other than Rittenhouse being a volunteer cadet with a fire department and receiving basic training as an EMT, let me know when you find his criminal record.

Carrying a gun is legal. The gun charges were dropped. All the prosecution had to do was read the law and measure the barrel.

I have a hunch the Wisconsin legislature will be revisiting that law.

Most likely, the long gun exception was intended for hunting. This exception was mis(?) applied to a kid carrying an AR-15 loaded with FMJ ammo at a protest. Something the law itself was probably  intended to prevent.

Burning buildings down and destroying people's livelihoods is not a protest. Innocent, and unarmed, people were killed last year in the 'mostly peaceful' protests.
