"worse on the right" might have been a clue. Someone once told me science denial of the right is largely rooted in distrust of government and the media; while the left distrusts  private corporations like Monsanto. That's true to an extent and helps explain why there are anti-vaxxers and anti-GMO activists on both sides of the aisle.

There was the whole dark ages thing. If judeo-christianity influenced the thinking of the enlightenment; it was a new take, one influenced by ancient pagan thinkers. It's a good thing the Muslims preserved their work.

I think you mean between rather than at?  When someone tells you evolution is just a theory; that is denialism rooted in ignorance. Rejecting creationism is healthy skepticism.
