The trial of Abdirashid Ismail Said on state charges regarding $11 million in Medicaid fraud was scheduled to begin tomorrow.
The Mn AG has spoken out about his efforts to bring fraud cases to justice at the state level. A successful state prosecution may have enabled recouping some of the $11 million in fraud, none of which has been recovered.
The presiding judge offered the defendant a conditional bond of $50, 000 under the condition of surrendering his passport. An unconditional bond of $150,000 with no passport surrender, at the objection of the prosecution, was offered as an alternative to the man charged with $11 million in fraud.
A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for this past week. Abdirashid Ismail Said didn't show up. It's assuming, after Said opted for the $150000 bond and keeping his passport, that he skipped the country.
The AG says that he will continue to pursue prosecutions.  :)

This follows a Nov 2025 case regarding state charges, not federal, against another individual with $7 million in Medicaid fraud. A jury in deep, deep blue Hennepin County returned a unanimous guilty verdict after short deliberations.
The judge vacated the unanimous verdict.
The AG says that he will pursue an appeal.  :)

Impeachment hearings for the 2024 DNC nominee for VP and his AG are scheduled to begin on Wed.

I dunno. The jury foreperson said "based off of" twice on the same sentence. I am leaning towards the Judge..

Mn pointing at Swalwell as a “gotcha” is like Custard doing his yeah but what about Biden.

Swalwell’s demise is awesome. Opens the primary up for Steyer, removes the possibility of a Hilton/Blanco general.

Swalwell and Porter are basically a male/female version of each other, both Democratic versions of Trump. All they do is yell - but have zero ability to understand policy. Might sort of work at the Congressional level but an executive should be a bit of a wonk

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Swalwell supporters gravitate to Beccera.   He seems solid, though he has the personality of a dead cat.  Maybe that’s a good thing today.

Nobody knows who Becerra is.  Name recognition is everything

More people knew Tom Steyer than Xavier Becerra *before* Steyer spent tens of millions on TV ads.

Look at that, even a flawed Democrat knows when to do the right thing. Probably a good thing Jack Kennedy wasn’t a politician in the 21st century.

That’s a good joke but it’s just math. If Gonzales resigned it messes up the majority until Swalwell is gone
