Yet you still are not protesting them despite the fact they are the government and are still supporting them.
Guys. I really think this should just get tabled. It's a hard damn problem.
George Floyd was doing some crimes. Chauvin's job was to do something about people doing crimes. But part of his job is to deal with that crime doing without killing George Floyd. Which makes Chauvin's job harder - he can't just shoot the guy and problem solved - based on US laws, that we put in place because we believe you shouldn't die for the petty stuff that Floyd was doing when Chauvin encountered him.
I think it's quite reasonable to say that Floyd's transgressions needed to be addressed, but that it was incumbent upon Chauvin that Floyd not die in the process.
Similarly - Hamas did some pretty bad shit. Killed a lot of people in a brutal terrorist attack. Israel has to respond to protect their people. Internationally we don't think they should just wipe Gaza off the map in order to do so, but they aren't really subject to our - or any other country's laws on the topic.
Israel needs to protect their people. It would be best if that in that process they didn't just kill a bunch of people in Gaza who weren't really involved and whose daily lives for decades have basically centered around getting a little food to eat and not dying a violent death. But Hamas is making that pretty damn difficult because Hamas is fucking nuts and they don't really care about much of anything.
