In 2025, somehow, this GOP administration is:
Fighting for the health of our most vulnerable citizens. (children)
Taking on Big Food/Oil.
Prioritizing common sense clean energy.
Preserving/growing the American middle class and the jobs that make the middle class. Including union jobs.
Peacemaking.
Fair trade.
Balancing the budget.
Eliminating discriminatory DEI initiatives.
As such, it makes sense that the biggest names in this administration are all former Democrats. I’m sure there are a few here thinking the “chaos” of the last couple of months means a sure fire Dem win in 2028, but the party has no message, no star power, no cohesion. It’s complete fatigue and disarray.
Know why the EU is actually mad at us? It’s because the ivory tower leftists that run most of Western Europe are seeing the writing on the wall on their side of the pond. The gravitas of the MAGA counterrevolution is catching on in Europe, too, and there’s a great deal of worry about a wave of populism rearranging the power structure in the next two years.
Throw in the tariff battle and our firm insistence that these countries pay into NATO as they agreed to but never do, and they know they’re fucked. Trump has the EU bent over a table right now. They can either side with Russia and China, or us.
They exist under our nuclear umbrella and an ironclad agreement that says an attack on them is an attack on us. We pay way more than our fair share for NATO. Which is more important to them than it is to us. Most of these countries won’t even do business with Russia. There is a snowball’s chance in hell the EU moves away from us. They can hardly even make anything there anymore because of the ridiculous regulations—especially energy—so they’re absolutely dependent on us. Or someone way worse.
Meanwhile a bunch of you here take their performative saber rattling as some real threat to us. Western Europe, for all intents and purposes, is a bought-and-paid-for subsidiary of the United States of America.
