You’re right on the second part—against all odds Republicans have become the party of the working class and downtrodden while the Democrats are a bunch of elite wolves in sheep’s clothing pretending to give a shit about the base.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch.  The Republicans did better with the working class in 2024, but they have a ways to go before you can call them "the party of the working class."

The exit polls I've seen show that the working class split 56% for Trump and 42% for Harris.  There will be plenty of opportunities for Democrats to regain those voters over the next four years.

Agree the Democrats have lots of chances to make up ground but Democrats equate to the Labour Party and got trounced by 14% among the working class. The working class is supposed to be the base, not a weird mashup of coastal types and people on public aid.
