The Marshall Fire was only a problem for about 9 hours from noon to 9PM when the wind died. It covered about 6000 acres and 1000 homes were lost. There were at least 2 sources, a century old coal mine fire and a wacko religious sect trash fire that wasn't properly put out. I believe there's also some pending litigation trying to rope in the local utility. 3 years after, about 90% of the rebuild is completed.
I am of the belief that climate change makes these events more likely. Making a strict cause and effect case is difficult to do on a case by case basis. Even for those who don't believe in the cause of the change being human driven, wouldn't you want to conserve our finite fossil fuel just on the off chance the other side is correct? Just saying.....
