Not surprised that I read a lot of anger and criticism here about the hurricanes and Florida government and people living in a flood zone deserving to die, but haven’t heard a peep about the people or the government of the arid fire zone that’s on fire.
Noted MAGAt James Wood on CNN crying about losing his home. There is so much to unpack in this.
He had just spent 4 years and millions rebuilding his home in a narrow inferno zone. And then he didn't have homeowners insurance. Oops. He notes that pretty much everyone in Palisades was dropped by their insurers, our Tahoe place has been dropped like 5 times, and each time we go find another (more expensive) insurer - HE chose to go naked.
Puts Trump in the vice - if he pushes back on FEMA aid for Southern California, he does so at the cost to his ardent notorious supporter James Woods.
Of course he posts "It's not climate change, it's Kamala and Gavin, the reservoirs are empty". CA reservoirs are well above historical averages, but that has nothing to do with fighting a fire on his hillside. He complained about the brush near his house, but it wasn't on government land, it was his neighbor - does he think that the government should impinge upon his neighbor's freedom?
Also of note: Woods goes to great length talking about how everyone boogied out when the fire hit. Because we - even James Woods - aren't Florida. Nobody "deserves to die" but i have less sympathy for people who ignore a 5 day+ advance notice of a Cat 4 hurricane who don't evacuate, if Californians can evac from a fire with minutes of notice.
