You cried about Dems wanting open borders. Cato style libertarians want open borders. Most Democrats probably want national borders to be controlled within reason, otherwise as open as possible.  I think reasonable people want national borders to be as open as possible. 

FWIG, neither Republicans nor Democrats have the will to solve the southern border migration problem. The difference I see is Republicans gleefully send 'those people' (asylum seekers) back to be murdered by gangs and cartels.  Democrats wring their hands, feel bad, and wish something could be done. 

The current 'migrants' are not all that different from my ancestors who came here from Germany 250 years ago, fleeing unfavorable conditions and seeking opportunity. There are some differences. At least some from Central America descended from indigenous people.  Also, the policies of the US government helped create the mess they are fleeing.
