It has nothing to do with popularity.  The first challenge for Harris is demonstrating to swing voters that she's a credible alternative to Trump.  She also has to energize the base Democrats who were discouraged with Biden’s prospects.  Right now, she's built some momentum, but it’s still a long way to November.

The general impression of  VP Harris in these parts was a low IQ cackling hen who talked in circles.

They also think AOC is dumb as a rock and don't understand how she went from waiting tables to Congress.

Oh, and they think Nancy Pelosi is a drunk.

I would think those things too, except I quit Fox News and AM talk radio. I never followed Newsmax, OAN, et al. I still hear it from friends at FB and X.

For pro-Biden and Harris coverage, there is MSNBC and CNN.

The mainstream corporate media has been less than warm.

I think we are seeing an energetic, unfiltered Harris for the first time, backed by a unified Party, and a likeable pugnacious VP candidate.

Up until now, nobody has really stood up to Trump and punched back hard. In 2020, Biden mostly ducked.

I would expect crowd size to be decent.   But I'm more interested in how many people are donating and volunteering for the campaign.

All the while you were complaining about the need for an alternative to Biden because anyone else would crush Trump. It is appearing that others agree they do not like Trump and will accept anyone but Biden. Yet you still seem unsatisfied.

A stale ham sandwich is a decent alternative to Trump. Many voters found Biden to be less than a stale ham sandwich. Harris is at the very lease a non-stale ham sandwich.

Starving people might eat bugs if they are hungry. They might even elect a ham sandwich that is clearly heading towards stale. So they will very much celebrate a non-stale ham sandwich, with vigor
