Low 70's today, sunny with no wind. Surface water temp went up 8 degrees from 59-67. Fish were in 9 feet of water. Go figger.

Haven’t had any luck since the weather cooled. But I live on a shallow bay and have just been fishing off the deck and dock in the evenings. Maybe I need to get into some deeper water.

Was crappie fishing last night with a Charlie Bee and hooked into what I am pretty sure was a pretty decent ‘eye but with the ultralight tackle I couldn’t keep it pinned and it spit the hook halfway to the dock

That was a pretty stupid statement. Just say "we won't tax retirement income" and be done with it. If you aren't getting enough revenue, increase the top rate. This avoids this dumb political argument.

If people on the bottom end are getting a tax reduction on their ordinary income, they net out positive from birth to death with the reduction in the lowest end rate - but that's just too complicated for people to wrap their heads around.

A followup. A friend of mine, in his 50's, became "unhinged" a couple of years ago. He went to see the doc, then tests and more docs. He passed away a few months later from brain cancer.
