OJ got off, too.

The glove did not fit. No self-defense claim there.

I wasn't aware of this ....
Binger also asked Rittenhouse why he didn't just call 911.

I'm surprised the 2 choirboys who got killed did not call the fire department or the police. I guess they were too busy peacefully protesting.

So, from.what I am reading here and elsewhere, we can throw out the law.

If someone fears for their life; they have a license to kill. It's entirely subjective.

It's open season on the mentally ill, pedophiles, rioters, and anyone with any sort of criminal record.

Never mind Wisconsin law:

The actor may intentionally use only such force or threat thereof as the actor reasonably believes is necessary to prevent or terminate the interference. The actor may not intentionally use force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless the actor reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself.

The reasonableness of a person's belief under sub. (1) is judged from the position of a person of ordinary intelligence and prudence in the same situation as the defendant, not a person identical to the defendant placed in the same situationn ...

They were rioting, remember?

They were there. Does that mean they were rioting? I don’t hold every single person who attended the Capitol on Jan 6th accountable for all that happened.

Apparently, when Rittenhouse tried to turn himself in, the cops pepper sprayed him and told him to go home.

Zimmerman has already established this.

No. That damn 250 year old piece of paper gets in the way again. Something about a jury, I believe.

No. That damn 250 year old piece of paper gets in the way again. Something about a jury, I believe.

Same piece of paper had something about free speech. I am allowed to disagree with jury verdicts. A lot of people think OJ was guilty. They called it jury nullification.

During the interview with TC, KR admitted pointing his gun at several people. He said he did not shoot  them only because they backed off.

I think the prosecutor charged wrong. No way it was 1st degree.

"Mitigating circumstances. The following are affirmative defenses to prosecution under this section which mitigate the offense to 2nd-degree intentional homicide under s. 940.05:
...
(b) Unnecessary defensive force. Death was caused because the actor believed he or she or another was in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that the force used was necessary to defend the endangered person, if either belief was unreasonable."

If he is gonna charge, should be 2nd degree. That said, he was a 17 year old kid in way over his head. In my mind, that mitigates. This probably should have been left in juvie ...

As it is, it still sent a message that anyone who feels threatened can escalate to deadly force and call it self defense. KR said it. Self defense was on trial. Or how we define it.
