What we're running into here, is that the right is conflating "I didn't do anything illegal, or at least not anything that had a paper trail that could get me convicted of doing something illegal", with "I didn't do anything wrong"
This Rittenhouse case is a shitty mess, but he definitely did many things wrong. 2 people are dead. He had several inflection points in his life where if he chose Door #2 instead of Door #1, they would be alive. And any assessment by him that anything he did had any sort of positive impact - "saved a gas station" is patently false.
He probably goes free but he'll pay a price. "shot 2 people but didn't get convicted" is not a protected class.
