Bolton's a fraud and a pig! However the oinker on the other side of this can't have it both ways. If his book is all lies, how is it possibly classified? I guess we'll find out after AG Bill Boar gets in the ring himself on this. The trouble with wrestling with pigs is; after a while, you come to a point where you realize the pig enjoys it.

According to Bolton, Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping in a June 2019 meeting in Osaka to ensure he gets re-elected. The U.S. president allegedly told Xi that increased agriculture purchases by China would aid his electoral prospects.

A little earlier, Lighthizer had defended the phase-one deal he inked with China in January against critics who saw it as an election-year sop to American farmers. “They act like it’s just a soybean sales contract, when it really has a lot of very, very serious parts to it,” he said.

Then, shortly after the Bolton excerpts were published on Wednesday afternoon, Democratic Senator Bob Menendez questioned Lighthizer about the Japan meeting, which he acknowledged he also attended.

‘I Was There’
“Absolutely untrue, it never happened,” Lighthizer said. “I was there, I have no recollection of that ever happening. I don’t believe it’s true. I don't believe it ever happened.”

I don't know if Lighthizer has a book to promo.

Facts:

Yes, Bolton did not testify under oath. He said he would not testify before the House without a subpoena. Also, even if subpoenaed, he would hold off until the Courts determined whether or not the House had the right to subpoena a presidential advisor. Fearing a protracted a legal battle, the House declined to pursue his testimony. Bolton did subsequently offer to testify before the Senate. However, the Republicans had made up their minds and steadfastly refused to hear from any witnesses.

FWIG, NSC had not issued the final clearance letter for the book. It appears the WH blocked it. Bolton alleges they had no intention of clearing it before November. WH acting in bad faith? Bolton/Simon & Schuster went ahead with publication anyway. WH now saying some passages in the book are both false and national secrets.
