Nichi with some pretty impressive mental gymnastics kudos
Earlier, I thought maybe Nichi too.
The socialist vs social Democrat curveball missed the plate by a little too much to bite.

I just cringe at all the twisting and taking things out of context and reassigning intent to things people said to help prop up ones outrage and TDS or HDS or whatever it may be. I think we both know what point each one was trying to make and that it was sincere but came across way wrong. Let it go Jesus

So during a press conference about improved job numbers Trump declared we have equal justice for all and George Floyd would be happy about this, and the Constitution does not require us to buy stocks. I am sure glad Mn cleared that up.

That's not a curve ball.  It's not even a fast pitch. The distinction between socialism -- including democratic socialism -- and social democracy is important.  Social democracy is the third way between predatory laissez faire capitalism and paternalistic state socialism.

After reading a Trump talk; it's hard to figure out wtf he was talking about.

"1/2 of the Republicans were actual Trump supporters".
I guess the Dems and independents put him in office then.

Over half of Republican primary voters wanted someone else.

There were people who voted against Hillary,  stayed home, or voted 3rd party. Oh, and HRC actually got more votes.  It was Electoral College that put him in office.
Yep. That pesky little process that the Republicans put in place the first week of Nov, 2016.

You could watch the YouTube link you posted, if that's easier.

Again, I read the transcript of the entire press conference.  I must be missing something.

I see no basis for Trump saying

"Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, ‘This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.’ This is a great day for him, it’s a great day for everybody. This is a great day for everybody, this is a great, great day in terms of equality.”

Exactly what happened to make it "a great, great day in terms of equality?”

That was even worse than saying it was because of the jobs numbers.

Try to keep up. We were talking about what constitutes a Trump supporter.

You: Anyone who considered voting for him over HRC

Me: The kind of people who attended his rallies.

The audio of a conference call between Lightfoot and aldermen that gets a little heated, especially after Lightfoot says "people are just fucking lawless".
Lopez, 40% or so in, asks for a 5 day plan and asks questions. Lightfoot says, "thank you, alderman. Next question."
Lopez, "I want an answer"
Lightfoot, "I think you're 100% full of shit"
Lopez, "fuck you".

So much for the progressive lesbian corporate lawyer. She gets the issues yet restrained letting the cops do what would have been necessary to limit the looting. She was in quite the Catch 22 situation.

Those kind of people.

BTW, exactly what happened to make it "a great, great day in terms of equality?”

I actually thought it was the job numbers that if true, possibly benefited everyone equally. Was there some other breakthrough that day which specifically addressed civil rights? Just prior to that, Trump was rambling on about the national guard and 'dominate the streets.'

Wait? The OANN reporter pushing the theory that Trump is pushing that the 75 year old guy in Buffalo knocked down by the cops is part of Antifa is a former Soviet news agency reporter? You could not come up with this shit if you were writing a movie, or even the Mueller Report....

https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/president-trump-tweets-antifa-conspiracy-theory-originated-anonymous-blog-n1228356

Rouz, who previously worked for the Russian state media organization Sputnik, has a record of pushing baseless conspiracy theories on OANN. Last month, Rouz claimed that the coronavirus was a plot for "population control" by George Soros, Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill and Hillary Clinton and China.

Marc Polymeropoulos, a former CIA officer whose portfolio included Russia, said Trump was "giving a gift to the Russians.

"It's bad enough what he said," Polymeropoulos said. "But it's pretty shocking that he would quote from a known propaganda arm of Russian intelligence."

This guy is shocked that Trump loves the Soviets who helped him get elected?  Really?
