The documentary "13th"  from 2016 is very informative.  It ties together and gives some context to many incidents in my lifetime that I remembered but never closely related.  It truly is powerful and gives some level of understanding to the "why" of what's currently happening.  Game changer for me and worth the 90 minutes.

Free on You Tube:

It's also on netflix .

25% of the country was deplorable in 2016.

25% assumes Republicans were half the nation (they were not and are not), all Republicans were Trumpkins (they were not and are not),  and HRC meant half literally (she likely did not).

I'd guess Republicans were about 40%, and at most 35% of them were core Trump supporters. Even if we take "half" literally, the deplorables were  7%.
Got it.
She didn't differentiate between "core" Trump supporters and just plain old people who might vote for Trump over herself. So she didn't mean what she said, so it's really only 7%. Even tho she essentially said 30 million voters are in a basket of deplorables.
Care to share your mathematical analysis and interpretative instincts on Biden's 10-15% comment ?  And no fair starting with the premise that Joe was referring only to Republicans who are "core" Trump supporters.

30 million sounds right regardless of who they voted for.

The audio of a conference call between Lightfoot and aldermen that gets a little heated, especially after Lightfoot says "people are just fucking lawless".
Lopez, 40% or so in, asks for a 5 day plan and asks questions. Lightfoot says, "thank you, alderman. Next question."
Lopez, "I want an answer"
Lightfoot, "I think you're 100% full of shit"
Lopez, "fuck you".

"You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? [Laughter/applause]. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America."

Half of Trump supporters 60 days before the election in 2016, even if we take everything except "to just be grossly generalistic" and "11 million"
literally, still was not 25%.

So what did Trump really mean by:

"Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, “This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.” This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody. This is a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality. It’s really what our Constitution requires and it’s what our country is all about."

What did Trump mean? Why was it a great day for George Floyd?
I think this means that you didn't watch the YouTube video that you linked.
It starts off with something about equal justice, in case you missed it.
I heard that.  What did Trump mean by equal justice? Nothing in his rambling remarks pertained specifically to justice. He was holding a press conference about dubious job numbers.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-jobs-numbers-report/

On June 5, 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump stated during a talk about employment numbers that it was a "great day" for George Floyd, a black man who was killed May 25 after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-george-floyd-great-day/

Another view:

Taken all together, the president was saying that George Floyd’s noncorporeal being should be impressed by what the Trump administration has achieved, and that those achievements would be threatened by raising taxes and doing Green New Deals [sic].

Thank you for reading this post about how the insane thing that the president of the U.S. said was actually not quite insane in the way it first seemed but actually equally if not more insane in a slightly different way.

Got it. People who didn't follow websites weren't included in the deplorable half of the 63 million Trump votes. If only we would have known 4 years ago.
Obviously, Trump meant that the Constitution requires everyone to be invested in the stock market if we should expect to have equality. Even tho that's not what he said.

Then WTF did he mean? The jobs numbers were about reduced unemployment and new jobs, not the stock market, so I don't know where you are going with that. What did the job numbers have to do with equality?

You still have not explained away "to just be grossly generalistic." Again, this was 60 days out. Trump won 44.9% of the Republican primary vote.  Less than 1/2 of Republicans were actual Trump supporters.

You cherry pick in each case to make your point.

Actually, MN with an unimpressive job of changing the subject. I realize that defending Trump's idiotic remarks is difficult.

Equal justice under the law must mean that every American receives equal treatment in every encounter with law enforcement, regardless of race, color, gender, or creed.  They have to receive fair treatment from law enforcement.  They have to receive it.  We all saw what happened last week.  We can’t let that happen.

Hopefully, George is looking down right now and saying,
“This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.”  This is a great day for him.  It’s a great day for everybody.  This is a great day for everybody.  This is a great, great day in terms of equality.  It’s really what our Constitution requires, and it’s what our country is all about.

Geez, I have no idea what he said. lol
"1/2 of the Republicans were actual Trump supporters".
I guess the Dems and independents put him in office then.

She didn't differentiate between "core" Trump supporters and just plain old people who might vote for Trump over herself. S
I would not describe someone who might vote vote for a candidate as a supporter. For example, Bernie supporters might vote for Biden over Trump. That does not make them Biden supporters. After rereading the speech I am confident HRC was talking about actual Trump supporters -- the people that attended Trump rallies. I also don't think she literally meant half of them were racists, bigots, homophobes, etc. She was speaking to an LGBT group -- people that tend to see all Trump supporters as racists, bigots, homophobes, etc. I think she used the two baskets analogy to make the point that not all Trumpkins were cut from the same cloth:

But the "other" basket – the other basket – and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but — he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.

Of course, the liberal media ignored the point, and attacked her for calling opposition voters deplorable

"1/2 of the Republicans were actual Trump supporters".
I guess the Dems and independents put him in office then.

Over half of Republican primary voters wanted someone else.

There were people who voted against Hillary,  stayed home, or voted 3rd party. Oh, and HRC actually got more votes.  It was Electoral College that put him in office.
