Watched Gutfeld, sponsored by Chevron dedicated to reducing carbon emissions. Greg and his cronies are really mad because guidance based on misleading data from the CDC may have caused Americans to unnecessarily wear masks outdoors. Among the ironies noted; Gutfeld and cronies have been known to spread climate change denial misinformation / disinformation once / still financed by Chevron and it's predecessors.
There is little doubt the CDC released inaccurate information that exaggerated the risks of casual outdoor transmission of covid. No idea if this was intentional erring on the side of caution or just scientific trial and error at work. It's possible they were just wrong and not deceptive.
I am thinking, why are they so pissed off? What was the harm? My thought is it is better to have it and not need it than need and not have it. Then a guest says she walked up several flights of stairs with a mask on and was all out of breath. The old 'a mask will block O2 and trap CO2, but viruses pass through freely?' So much for science.
I told my wife these are the same idiots who once opposed mandatory seat belts and motorcycle helmets. Sure enough, one of the guests said there should no be laws requiring masks or seat belts. The basic flaw of the libertarian position is that government is always bad, but the unchecked private sector is always good, even though both are run by humans.
