Aimee Bock actually founded Feeding Our Future in 2016. She had been fighting with the MDE over dubious billing before Walz took office. They delayed or denied payments multiple times.

Feeding our Future expanded during the pandemic and MDE actually stopped paying them at one point.

The Lawsuit: In late 2020, MDE designated Feeding Our Future as "severely deficient" and attempted to stop processing its meal grant applications. Feeding Our Future sued the state in the spring of 2021.

The Ruling: Judge Guthmann held a hearing in April 2021, warning MDE that they had a "real problem" if they continued to withhold funds without providing a specific reason allowed under federal regulations. MDE voluntarily resumed payments in response.

Contempt Ruling: In June 2021, the judge held the state agency in contempt of court for processing new site applications too slowly. He ordered the MDE to pay a $47,500 fine and sanction to Feeding Our Future.

Meanwhile, In the spring of 2021, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) contacted the FBI regarding suspicions of criminal fraud at the nonprofit Feeding Our Future.

Wrong. The DoJ had temporarily assigned Sheri Mecklenburg to work for Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats. That relationship has obviously been terminated.

Durbin, as the ranking member on Senate Judiciary, had the approval authority regarding the detailing to her position as minority counsel for Senate Judiciary.
Her detail was approved, not rejected, and she was given the position.

Durbin also exercised termination authority.
