A lot of the poor people soaking up government money in the Deep South are blacks directly descended from Lincoln freed slaves. Democrats quit caring about the ones that didn’t flock to northern inner cities and become generational Democrats.

Doesn't change the fact that blue staters are also relocating to blue states, along with turning red states purple.  And many of those moving to red states will choose a bluish area of the state to live.

They were pretty damn red this time around. I would guess most of the people leaving CA aren’t dyed-in-the-wool Democrats. Nearly all the people of note that have left are clearly aligned with the right at this point.
