Trump isn’t on thin ice, he has a groundswell of support. Even from people like Jeff Bezos. But still pretty convinced someone is going to kill him sooner than later.

Well...Trump would govern like he won a mandate even if he lost the popular vote again.  If Trump stays Trump, and he will, he will overreach pretty fast.

Cold comfort, the votes for Trump did not translate downballot in many instances.  Assuming they do their homework, Dems have a good chance to retake the House in the mid-terms.  With good candidates, they have a punchers chance to regain seats in the Senate despite another bad map.

He is below 50%. In a grown up world, less than half the vote, less than a 2% margin is not a landslide, not a mandate.

I remember when spin master Clinton tried to claim an Electoral college landslide. Republicans laughed at him.
