So ? Biden was the Commander in Chief at the time of the withdrawal.

Whatever you say, but that's not what State Dept/NSC/EOP emails say about the support for the $1 billion in Oct 2015. And those emails conflict with what the State Department said was the timeline in later transcripts and their 'talking points' about the loan guarantee.

Nope. Omnibus bills can have their place. The border and Ukraine stand alone bills both could have possibly been passed by now.

And the Steele dossier was not "opposition research".

If we’ve learned anything about Afghanistan over the past 200 years or so, it is that rarely do things go according to plan.  There was no chance the installed government there would survive without us.  Just staying there forever was never going to work.  The country is just too corrupt to support a functioning democracy. 

The terrorist attack on our troops during the withdrawal is something that happens when you occupy a hostile territory and would have happened again if we stayed.  Pouring more blood and treasure into that mess was a fool’s errand.  One way or another, we were coming out of there.

Everything good that happened under Obama was his doing, everything bad was W’s doing. Everything bad that happened under Trump was Trump’s doing, and nothing good happened. Everything good that has happened under Biden is Biden’s doing, and everything bad that happens is Trump and the GOP’s fault. Am I playing the blame/deflect game correctly?

I know this goes both ways depending on who is in office, but blaming Trump for stuff 3+ years into a new administration, that the new administration could fix, is some seriously weak sauce and an admission of Biden’s ineffectiveness. Are Democrats really going to go into this election cycle with their entire message being, “hey at least he isn’t Trump,” again? Seems like a recipe for getting Trump elected.

It’s pretty amazing that similarly aged people (Ray, Mn) that live in the same part of the country in 2024 can basically consume two completely different sets of news. I came of age at the dawn of the wide scale adoption of the internet. What was it like back in the day when you only had network news, fish wraps, or talk radio to inform you? Was the disparity in coverage this large?

If we are discussed the pullout from Afghanistan; then noting Trump's role in that is valid.

If discussing inflation, noting the supply side contribution Biden inherited is valid -- not necessarily blaming Trump.

It is valid to blame Trump for inflaming xenophobic rhetoric.

Also tax cuts that increased the deficit.

Senate Democrats have been able to come up with bipartisan legislation to reform immigration.

House Republicans cannot. I wonder why?

The Senate passed bipartisan legislation to address border security.  Trump told House leadership not to consider the bill.

Johnson is just following orders.
