If they had a boat bring them here, sure. Don't the Venezuelans have to submit an application for asylum when they get here? They must be going someplace to do that. Aren't a bunch of them giving themselves up when they got here?
It 's my understanding that submitting an application for asylum would be done at designated border crossings, which would be the procedure in place before the current administration decided to let migrants in wherever they damn well please and/or the cartel drops them off.
The illegal migrants walk around a border wall, swim or get a boat ride across the river, get dropped off from a boat into California or Florida or climb a fence. Some turn themselves in for a free plane ticket or bus ride somewhere to collect U.S. and /or state taxpayer funded benefits.
Some have absolutely no interest in turning themselves in or getting caught. These would be the got aways of which we have no idea how many there are or what they might be up to. They don't go thru designated ports of entry.
The asylum seekers from the Central America country of China probably aren't using the designated ports of entry either.
