I'm not gonna opine on whether we should be jailing someone who is playing fast and loose with their taxes - I'm saying that as a society we generally do not, in practice.

Unless they are
1) Poor
2) Someone has something to gain via a prosecution.

The outrage spewed by Mace and Tayor-Greene yesterday was super amusing. If they were going to spew that sort of stuff at everyone who was late or cheated on their taxes, they would have to spend the rest of their lives doing so - presumably also yelling at themselves.

But Republicans are up in arms that the IRS has recovered $500m in taxes underpaid by millionaires....maybe if the IRS sought criminal prosecution of those millionaires they would be in board?

If I'm not mistaken, the plea agreement was tailored to a pre-trial diversion on the gun charges , probation on the tax charges and a no further prosecutions if the diversion requirements were met by Biden.
And this after roadblocks were put up during the investigation and the statute of limitations were allowed to expire on the earlier years when Biden was VP.
The judge asked for precedent to the plea deal and the Weiss team said there was none. It then became a disagreement on the no further prosecution understanding and things fell apart.

It began before the 2020 election.

Sounds like Biden changed his mind and is willing to agree to asylum limits. Does not seem the House Crazies are willing to work on resolving the issue.

Reducing the asylum limit to just under 2 million a year and we're already giving out court dates of 7-8 years from now ?
The proposed limit would still be higher than numbers seen before the person responsible for this assumed office.
