The point is that Navarro had contempt charges filed and was convicted.
Bannon volunteered for an open hearing, was told 'no dice' and was subsequently charged and convicted.

Then Hunter Biden will be charged and convicted too.

He seems to have plenty of other charges pending against him already

Except for a judge, he would have skated on the 1st set of 'charges'.

To be fair, he had a Republican judge who thinks there should be no such thing as a "gun crime"

Except there seemed to be a variance of opinion between the parties how broad the plea deal was. Which came to light when the judge started asking questions about that specifically.

Yet it appears that if the judge had not asked for knowledge of any prior plea deal arrangements being tailored which would have set any precedent for Hunter's plea deal, and the reply was a "no", then the plea deal could have sailed right thru.

Correct.  Then there could have been a conflict about the scope on the back end.

Various tax charges and a gun charge. If Hunter skated people would be shocked that a rich and connected person had consequences for a couple of non-violent offenses? These are probably the same people who were duped into knocking out a window at the capitol with an ice axe.

The real surprise is that SBF and Elizabeth Holmes actually went to jail.

I don't understand what you're saying.

If it had gone through, they would have later fought about whether it took care of the second charge, right? The argument was about the scope of the plea deal and if it precluded/handled all the charges. That is what I recall was the argument in the courtroom when the judge started asking questions.

I believe the wording in the gun charges portion of the plea deal was written to avoid any penalties on the tax charges if the judge did accept the plea deal

How did Hunter become rich?

November 7, 1972 - the day his Father was elected a US Senator. While not every US Senator has the billions of dollars that former US Senator Kelly Loeffler has, it is nonetheless an occupation that pays over 3x the US Median income level and comes with perks and benefits that places a US Senator well into the upper class of US society, along with their families.
