That was swift. It's okay though. The left now hates Thomas Wilson and Margaret Sanger too. Dead public figures are often defined by the worst things they are said to have ever said.

I saw a meme with Rush quotes, describing him as a despicable racist. About half were attributions; the rest lacked context. Saw a similar Sanger meme with a mix of fake and out of context quotes. That sort of thing passes for a bio these days.

I guess we have a new golden rule. Do unto others as we judge they deserve. Our political opponents are no longer just wrong. They are evil, despicable, and horrible people.

I live in an older house (built in 1988) and taxes only increase a maximum of 3% per year.  I have to pay a little over 5k a year in property taxes... a similar priced home in chicago I'd be shelling out at least 20k a year and a lot more going forward...  Nevada's tax abatement law protects homeowners from sudden spikes in their property taxes. The law limits increases in property taxes on primary residences to 3% per year. Thus, even if home values increase by 10%, property taxes will increase by no more than 3%.

Not to mention the zero percent income tax, thats the big savings

Limbaugh did in fact have a radio segment on his show in which he mocked people dying of AIDS.

LGBTQ+ Nation reported that author Ze'ev Chafets wrote about the segment in his book Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One.

A passage reads: "He chastised 'militant homosexuals' for their disrespectful behavior and shortly thereafter began broadcasting irreverent and tasteless 'AIDS Update' segments introduced by Dionne Warwick's "I'll Never Love This Way Again."

The Los Angeles Times published an article in 1998 about what was described as the "popular" feature of Limbaugh's show.

The publication stated that Limbaugh even said, "Gays deserved their fate."

This is a prime example of something that is accurate, but is cited without relevant context. Let's ignore the fact that Limbaugh's "Aids Update" lasted only a few weeks in 1990.  He discontinued it  saying that it was "very insensitive to people who were dying." He would later describe the segment as one of the "most regretful things I've ever done."

This was not the only the only irreverent satire piece Rush did that was in poor taste. His mental health updates were not all that funny either.  He poked fun at conditions he deemed fake, such as panic disorder. He described one person's disability (CFS) as 'being tired all of the time'.

Talk to me when the climate denial that Rush was the focal point of kills 6 billion

Saying that Rush later regretted the AIDS thing would be like Trump later regretting the things he said at the Jan 6 rally. The damage was already done. Matthew Shepard et all can be traced back to his hate speech, sure Rush didn't do the lynching, he just created the lynchers.

It's not the people complaining about Rush who are neglecting the context, I know he said that stuff, but his minions don't. They celebrate every shitty thing he says and when he issues a correction on some media outlet that isn't the EIB Network, his followers aren't following the correction.

This is by design.

This is getting utterly absurd. Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson would have been 12 or 13 when Rush ran his Aids update in 1990. I am confident he was not responsible for their homophobia.
