Yeah, they are all terrorists looking to take over Custard's house.

Part of this is W's fault. Chavez cozied up to Castro on his watch and now Venezuela has gone to shit.

My guess is it's probably a shorter Uber drive from where ever they would get dropped off in Chicago to your house than it would be from where ever they would get dropped off where ever Custard is. And then they would have to get past the gun-totin' vigilantes in the area around the Custard ranch.

Fault can be spread many places. Exacerbating the problem without addressing it would fall on the current administration.

I heard they’re all sleeping on the floors of police stations in big cities?

The Western powers have caused tons of refugee crises and then end up absorbing tons of people from said crises. Certain elements in these nations clearly have a vested interest in their open door policies. Hard not to think some or most of it is intentional at this point.

I'm so glad I moved out of Chicago, apparently the 18th district police station a block or so from my former residence is completely surrounded by over 300 migrants living on the sidewalks.  WTF?

And seriously if this was women and children coming that's another story, but in most of these invasions its like 99% adult men.  Send them back!

I think most of us recognize that the only way to meaningfully address the immigration issue is through bipartisan congressional action, with input from stakeholder groups of course.  This means addressing the major questions together, such as demand for high- and low-skilled labor, the legal status of undocumented immigrants living in the country, border security, immigrant processing and interior enforcement.

It’s not a good idea to leave immigration policy decisions to the courts, the executive branch or states. The result is a patchwork quilt of inefficient, stop-gap measures, which can change every 2-4 years. 

Dial down the political rhetoric and get to work Congress.  According to the Constitution, the ball is in your court.

That sounds good. What was the problem with beefing up border security measures? Too expensive? Too time consuming? Trump said it?

We’ve sent tens of billions (probably more than officially recognized) to Ukraine which is universally applauded by the left because Putin got Trump elected (ha) but we can’t shore up our southern border and then at least have the option to actually decide who we do and don’t let into our country? The sides people take are very telling, and I don’t think the left is serious at all about border security much like the right isn’t serious about the situation in Ukraine.

In what exact form? Are we sending them pallets of cash? Or are we mostly talking about transferring military hardware? Basically money that was or is already being spent anyway?

No one should want the Soviets putting the band back together. We spent a shitload over decades to beat them the last time. Certain members of the right seem invested in helping the Soviets win because they helped Trump win. Others on the right see it for what it is.
