I am obviously aware that not all mentally ill, homeless people act as the perpetrator did in North Carolina and that so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion.”

This is a bullshit comparison. White kids have all the opportunities in the world to become NBA players - if they have the skill, they will make it. They have a *better* chance to make the NBA than a similarly skilled black person

Meanwhile a black kid with the exact same talent as a white kid in terms of being a pilot- has a lower chance, all other things being equal - to actually become one

The real bullshit about Kirk’s “I hope he’s qualified” statement is that it implies that the FAA and airlines reduce their stringent standards based on race. Truth? If no blacks passed the tests - there would be no black pilots. If you pass the test  you are qualified. Flying a plane is not the NBA. For pro basketball, there is a gradient - for pilots there is a cutoff
