I guess he is having surgery. I’m fairly certain pitchers have come back from it and thrown even harder after recovery. For a fact they’ve went on to long careers. Modern medicine is pretty impressive.

I had heard that, too. But the article I just read basically said he’d be having surgery. If it’s a complete tear, I don’t see how surgery is avoidable. The above doc said it likely wouldn’t be Tommy John because the tissue is probably in good condition. Says pitchers do more damage to the tendon than quarterbacks.

While that may be true, but he is missing camp, reps, etc., all the stuff a young QB needs.

I do not do PI, but there is a saying I have heard that you would rather have a PI lawyer than a doctor read your x-rays.

Here are the QBs I can find that have had elbow surgery:

Carson Palmer (sucked after it)
Jake Delhomme (had Tommy John - sucked - was in training camp after it)
Rob Johnson (saw one report, unsure if true)
Ben Roethlisberger (2020- so he had no arm after it)

Out of this group, he would at least be the youngest.

Were those all a traumatic tear like Purdy had ?
