1. All West Coast 6 and 12 don't come close to making up for East Coast footprint. The B1G is thriving because it has an East Coast footprint for the BTN now. This is not rocket surgery.
2. I've been to 2 Rose Bowls and seen enough of them, been out to CA enough the past 40 years to see enough of them, and have plenty of family members who are Walmart Trojans

In terms of market, the B1G was in better financial shape before adding Rutgers or Maryland, and if it's all about TV markets, the ACC's failure to work while controlling the entire Boston-DC corridor, Atlanta, and Florida would need explaining.
My point isn't that they're irrelevant, it's that the conference is grossly overvaluing the LA college brands and TV pull. Imo, the whole thing is taking easy money now and destroying long-term value that took decades to build.
