Maybe we can mandate democratic socialism in Latin America and state control of all resources in those countries in exchange for banning all immigration from there to the US.  Who knows, Bernie Sanders and JD Vance might both sign up for that.

Meanwhile, give them immediate work permits for labor shortage jobs like nursing homes so they can get to work, pay taxes, and pay for shelter.

Lawyer Sidney Powell pleaded guilty to reduced charges Thursday over efforts to overturn Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election in Georgia, becoming the second defendant in the sprawling case to reach a deal with prosecutors.

Powell, who was charged alongside Trump and 17 others with violating the state’s anti-racketeering law, entered the plea just a day before jury selection was set to start in her trial. She pleaded guilty to six misdemeanors accusing her of conspiring to intentionally interfere with the performance of election duties.

As part of the deal, she will serve six years of probation, will be fined $6,000 and will have to write an apology letter to Georgia and its residents. She also agreed to testify truthfully against her co-defendants at future trials.

If that's the end result, a rational person in Sidney Powell's shoes would do the exact same thing, every time. She has earned many many multiples of $6000 from this whole episode, and even billing at $500 an hour the apology letter will cost her $20 tops. If she violates probation, she'll get fined 6k again in the process of making even more money.

Going back to my original thesis - given the original opportunity, she should still do exactly what she did and take the exact same deal - knowing full well the deal will present itself.

Overall, for her, this has been an excellent couple of years.

The first rat gets the best deal.  Keep in mind she's still in Jack Smith's sights as an unindicted co-conspirator.  She's also facing a mountain of lawsuits that will financially ruin her.   The Dominion & Smartmatic wood chipper awaits.
