Tony Ornato and Trump were the only 2 knowledgeable of insurrectionists armed with AR 15s on Jan 6.
Ornato didnt let anybody else know. It was a secret between the 2 of them. If anybody found out, maybe someone would act on Trump's suggestion of 10-20 thousand National Guard troops for that day. They kept it between themselves.
The armed insurrectionists didnt enter the Ellipse because of the possibility of their concealed carry AR 15s setting off detectors. So they just conceal carried their AR 15s over to the Capitol where nobody noticed the big bulges in their shirts or pants or under their MAGA hats, no pictures were taken, no videos were taken, nobody was questioned and nobody was arrested.
After watching the insurrection, they then quietly left the area without anyone the wiser about the concealed carry AR 15s. Except for the one Secret Service agent, and Trump.
And the staffer who came forward a year and a half later.

Wtf are you talking about? Watch a rerun of the latest hearing. It was widely known by law enforcement. I have no idea why it was not more widely publicized.

Part of the point appears to be they weren't the only two with knowledge.  We know there were weapons stored by some of the white nationalists, based on video and testimony from the documentary filmmaker from the 1st hearing on the TV.

Let's try and sum up the actual important shit that was alleged yesterday:

1. There was knowledge/hope that the crowd would head to the Capitol and try to influence/overturn the election. They also knew the police force was insufficient for the crowd.

2. Trump wanted to be part of the crowd and knew/believed there were people part of the crowd who were armed, but he didn't care because they were his people who weren't going to hurt him. He ordered that the detectors not be used because he wanted the crowd for his speech to be at capacity despite knowledge among security and aides that the crowd had weapons (knives, sharpened flag poles, etc.).

3. Trump was pissed that the Secret Service wouldn't let him go (while the steering wheel etc. bit has been denied through third-parties, this part has not been denied), and he was a cuck who complied.

4. Trump was happy about what was going down and refused to try and defuse the situation, against the wishes of his daughter, son in law, and even Hannity.

5. Trump was happy the crowd wanted to kill Mike Pence.

Feel free to add....

I'm not watching the hearings.  I'm only interested in Hunter's laptop.

Don't sleep on Durham. He is getting close to something really big that could overturn the election and lock her up..

Not only that, he seems to go "welp, no AR-15's, shut the hearing down because there wasn't even anyone who entered the Capitol that day"

Other than a couple of arrests on gun charges on Jan 5, some guy in his truck with guns a couple of blocks or more from the Capitol and the group with guns across the river I'm not aware of any gun charges at the Capitol on Jan 6. And that includes the guys in the trees.

Nonetheless, everyone knew there was the potential for violence. Trump recommended 10-20,000 National Guard troops. The Capitol Police force was acting at half staff, and he was ignored.

Who is this author named Washington Examiner ?
But I suppose Washington is a better first name for a person than, say, Medical.

The Capitol rioters were armed with a variety of weapons.  Here’s a partial list of the weapons they are accused of having on Jan. 6:  guns, knives, bats, chemicals, pieces of metal and wood, crutches, a skateboard, stun devices, a crowbar and an axe.
“To focus only on guns is to ignore the many other objects that rioters brought with them, stole from police, or improvised on the scene that could be used to hurt someone or break something.”

I have no idea what a jan6er is. The Trumpets in the trees had guns.

It appears more had guns than the handful who were arrested. I don't know what the applicable gun laws would have been. It does look like the arrests might have been secondary charges. I doubt they had the manpower to seize guns from oath keepers.

See my reply to MN. There were more guns than we were previously led to believe. The mob was apparently fairly heavily armed. Assuming Trump supporters illegally brought firearms to the rally, there might have been a decision to avoid a confrontation by not strictly enforcing the local gun laws. That is my swag.
