This one is a great trick by Trump. People with small 401k balances look at it and think "I made 4k while Trump was President!" not understanding that they are net net in a substantially worse position, given real inflation (current and down the line). What you really want is a big ass mortgage at some ridiculously low rate, to pay off later with inflated dollars. Or say for example if you owe $400M to the Russians, then inflating the dollar is the way to go.
But for most Americans, the debt they will pay off with inflated dollars is credit card debt that is way outpacing inflation.
