If you get into a jam with local authorities overseas, you want to be holding a U.S. passport. Not a Syrian one, not an Ethiopian one, not a Japanese one.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Again, no halfway educated or traveled person would disagree with this.

You don’t lose protection of the U.S. government by going overseas. It is ALWAYS the job of the U.S. government to make sure the freedom and safety of American citizens is safeguarded, wherever they are.

Even if you, for example, take up arms against a foreign government?

I didn’t say one word about the Constitution. What I said was you don’t stop receiving the benefits of citizenship simply by leaving the country. That’s why an American passport is the most valued passport in the world. Any educated person wouldn’t argue against this.

The US Constitution does not protect you when you violate the law in a foreign land. Treaties may offer some protection, but that is in doubt given the case where US prosecutors did not inform the Mexican embassy about one of their nationals being busted. May have even been a death penalty case. Been awhile.

This is an example where the US government targeted the person. Not another country dealing with a US citizen while in the foreign country's land and subject to their laws.

Which was your original example.

You’re purposefully obfuscating and playing dumb.

Nowhere did I say the Constitution protects you. You said that.

And also, the Americans killed in Israel weren’t violating any laws. They were visiting relatives. One was even delivering aid to Gazans.

Why do you think we have U.S. consulates? It’s not just to issue visas.

You know exactly what I am saying, you’re just trying to muddy the waters like lawyers so often do.

You said earlier that you couldn’t believe he was a lawyer. Now you’re accusing him of being just like one…

I also never said the constitution protects you in that case either, you’re just pulling that shit out of your ass. I’m not talking about serious crimes in this case I’m talking about minor incursions you’re more likely to be let go if you are an American then if you were a Somalian, for example.

Of course they’re not just going to let you go if you commit a serious crime in a foreign country just because you have a US passport, no one here made that case

For example, if you got caught with a joint, made a wrong turn on a roadway or got into a minor bar fight; you’re more likely to be let on your way if you have an American passport as opposed to many other countries

In the first post you alluded to, I was questioning his knowledge as someone educated in law, or at the least his application of it. In the second post you alluded to, I accused him of BEHAVING like a lawyer.
