I read about it pretty extensively at the time. It was bipartisan because most congressional pubs thought it was their best only chance to get anything in place to stem the tide, not knowing what the upcoming election would bring. The legislation left the door open to high numbers still.
No bill ever passed, yet here we are a year later with a closed, secure southern border and a massive deportation effort underway to undo the insanity of Biden’s open border policy.
It would have been sheer stupidity for them to pass that bill late in Biden’s term and give them a boost.
