if they aren't flipping for a quick profit, it will be worth zero soon enough. I guess it's on song for Trump, he's a big fan of bankrupting companies.

Biden pledged the money to them for nothing. Yay

Investing in Intel probably is like betting on Atlantic City instead of Vegas at this point.

To be fair, might be better to invest in Intel than Vegas right now. We might be able to sell Intel to the Taiwanese and get SOMETHING for it.

Do better.

Yes, Biden was shit and gave them the money with basically no strings attached. Trump said, “ok take the money but we want 10% of the business in exchange.”

Then you all bitched about it as some kind of government takeover and central planning and shit. You are the same damn people who literally want socialism. It’s just you don’t like Orange Man.  It’s literally the only problem. You’re children.

You dumb motherfuckers have such a Trump psychosis that you can’t even grasp how insanely better it is for the US to get something for Biden’s needless expenditure on Intel than it is to get nothing whatsoever. (Other than a bunch of our money going to fill the pockets of Intel execs who should have drowned with the sinking ship, but will retire in generational luxury, but I digress.)

This deal was child’s play for us, did us good, and all you could do is bitch about it because of whatever democrat news source indoctrinated you with.

Ask your AI to do some basic homework before you come back here throwing Nerf Darts.

At least now the government has a share in exchange for that investment.

It really is funny that the people who have been yelling for decades that the Government is completely incompetent and can't run anything, now think the Government is not only not incompetent, but should be running major companies.

Summary - "Trump good. Hair Gel guy and Hot Lady from NYC, Bad!"

I see. Last month when you bitched that the government used some money to build some roads, and now when you drive on the road, you have to pay a toll. I mean, shouldn't the government get something for that investment in the roads?

*if* the money that goes to Intel results in them building a Fab in Appalachiatuckey - that's a lot of jobs. The people who have those jobs will pay income taxes. If the company becomes profitable, the company will pay corporate taxes.

I start to think this is really some excellent AI trolling, it's a super nice touch "the Intel execs who should have drowned with the sinking ship" - Pat Gelsinger got fired.

I will say this, on this news Nvidia stock is up sharply, presumably because the market thinks Trump is putting the final nail in the coffin of our competitor.

Bolton is not at all being targeted. Vance said so.
The AG speaks out against unfounded targeting.

So socialism, but in a very nationalistic way.  There's a name for that, it's on the tip of my tongue.

Let’s conveniently gloss over the fact that it’s minor shareholding in struggling companies who were granted exorbitant sums of money under the previous administration with minimal to no oversight.

You’re not mad the government is leveraging payment promised by previous administration to have some control in the fate of the companies that are struggling, you’re only mad that it’s happening under Trump. You almost certainly weren’t up in arms when Obama did it.

In your perfect socialist world all the means of production would be owned by the government and the USA would almost instantly become a stale economy where innovation essentially ceases and we slip into something like post war Britain. The only reason that debacle lasted as long as it did was that the capitalist Americans mostly funded them through it.

Last I checked, JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and the banking industry writ large is doing fine. We weren't up in arms because although we were pissed that the banks created this mess, we knew Obama would be able to fix it.

The response so far to Trump taking a stake in Intel has been that TSMC has said "we don't want your stinking money", they know they can just wait for Trump to destroy Intel and buy up the pieces on the cheap. And he can't mess with TSMC because he's trying to fund his cronies tax cuts by taking a 15% haircut from all of our parts sold to China, and TSMC is our fab.
