Trump Makes a New Push to ‘Decouple’ U.S. From China https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/us/politics/trump-china-visas-tariffs.html?smid=nytcore-android-share
"The Trump administration has threatened to revoke the visas of many of the 277,000 or so Chinese students in the United States and to subject future applicants from China, including Hong Kong, to extra scrutiny."
fucking dumb.
Thanks to Trump we've started to create a generation of dumb fucks that believe the shit you guys are shoveling. And now you want to fill Harvard with them. Until you just ban Harvard.
I have a lot of co-workers from China. They are fucking awesome. One of them is named "Jensen Huang". But no, let's ban them. Let them stay in China.
Jensen said it perfectly on Cramer. A lot of AI research is going on in China. We have 2 choices
Either we can sell them 200 billion dollars worth of chips - taking 200 Billion off of this trade deficit that Trump is so worried about and paying tens of billions of taxes not in tariffs but in Corporate taxes, income taxes for employees, jobs downstream from Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, etc... and capital gains for all the people who own our stock (not including Q97 who shorted it).
Or - we can ban shipments of said chips to China - and the Chinese will go about figuring out how to make their own. And eventually they'll crack the nut. But as long as their home grown operations have to compete with Nvidia, they don't have a chance, they will fail, they will buy our stuff and the US owns the stack.
Trump seems to prefer the latter. Jensen was very clear - "I want our President to succeed, because I want our country to succeed. But for our country to succeed, the President needs to fix some policies that are bad for US innovation". It will be interesting because Jensen has a lot higher approval rating than 47, and 47 knows it.
