They ruled that they should facilitate his return and then proceed to deport him as if they had not made the administrative error.
Nope.
1 more time, from SCOTUS ...
"The order properly requires the Government to “facilitate”
Abrego Garcia’s release from custody ...."

Bukele won't release him which negates the possibility of the US transferring him to a country upon release.

Mn claimed there was no error. The DOJ admitted there was an error. Now, magically, there is no error.

He was erroneously sent to where he was not supposed to be sent. It appears that if they sent him to Mexico, it would have been fine. But they did not. So there was an error.
I don't believe I've said there was no error.
If they had deported him to Mexico, assuming Mexico would accept him, they would have satisfied both of the immigration court decisions.
He may have been deported wrongly, but he was not wrongly deported.

Tell yourself he was a violent gang member engaged in human trafficking so he deserved to be sent to a 'gulag' despite not being charged with any crime other than a minor misdemeanor.

Trump.could get this guy out if he wanted to.

So now, ICE can just pull anyone off the street, send them to prison in a foreign country, then say, "oopsy, it was an error, but nothing we can do!

you conveniently left out the rest of the sentence..."and to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador." Which means, he is back here and then he has a chance to petition to not be tossed out. Either way, the odds are he is gone somewhere. But this is not a shining example of "We are a nation of laws, not of men."

Just wait until some shithead Progressive Democrat gets into office and exploits this system you are currently enjoying being created. You will regret all the shit these assholes are doing. The French Revolution will look like a tea party.

It sounds like he was to be deported. Just not to El Salvador. He should have self-deported and this would have been avoided. Maybe the terrorist supporters on college campuses should start paying attention.

Of course he would be returned if Trump asked. But he isn't going to ask and the Courts are not going to do shit.

Sorry. My mistake.

No. He was not sent to the wrong place. His status was "withholding of removal"

To deport him legally, ICE has to go back to court and get an immigration to change his status.

Miller lied. He was not here illegally. He was legal since 2019.

His status was "Withholding of Removal" since 2019. He checked in with ICE annually.

Withholding of removal also does not offer permanent protection or a path to permanent residence. If conditions improve in a person’s home country, the government can revoke withholding of removal and again seek the person’s deportation. This can occur even years after a person is granted protection.

Any old orders of removal would no longer be valid once withholding of removal is granted. First, they would have to get his withholding of removal revoked. Then  seek a new order of deportation.

So we didn’t need to be spending billions of taxpayer dollars on DEI programs at private universities?

The dollars are spent on scientific research. But no we can't spend any money curing cancer because you know, DEI

Federal money doesn't come from thin air. Those colleges are in states that send a lot of money to DC that never comes back, ending up in Anti-wokistan to pay for volleyball courts at University of Southern Mississippi

I will say this. If we had a time machine, it might be a good play to withhold the federal funding that went to UIUC to fund the NCSA Mosaic project. We'd probably all be better off.

I'm not sure it says that.

But the American Immigration Council article does say "the “removal” to a person’s home country is “withheld.” However, the government is still allowed to deport that person to a different country if the other country agrees to accept them."

And then there's customary international law ....
"By contrast, customary international law holds that a country has a duty to accept the return of its nationals."

You can't be serious.
