I love how far this has gone now. All the illegals are picking the crops and it’s our fault fentanyl is here because demand. Don’t even bother trying to stop criminals or drugs from entering the country!

Other than "people buying - e.g. demanding - drugs" - why would there be any drugs entering the country?

I guess I missed the part where I argued that we should continue sending guns into Mexico. The fact that there is demand for guns and drugs doesn’t mean we should just allow an unfettered flow.

I believe this is still a fact. In the past,  most drug users and addicts were recruited by petty dealers, who were users and addicts themselves. The bigger distributors would front them a small quantity at wholesale prices. The petty dealers would sell enough to pay their debt, and smoke/snort/shoot up their profit.

People also got addicted to various prescription drugs. More recently, we had the opioid crisis.

My position is  we should deal with the problem pretty much how we deal with alcoholism.
